"I’m interested in the details of just about everything and everyone I see - why is that sign crooked, why is that person laughing, where am I going? Using the vocabulary of abstraction, I can focus on using shapes, lines, angles, textures and colors to satisfy my curiosity. My work is often fueled by music as I scrape, draw, paint and repaint until I feel that I have an honest picture. I want my work to evoke questions, memories, and feelings. Hopefully, taking the viewer to places they have not seen." - Martica Griffin
